I always feel so encaptured by the beautiful soft pastel colours you get as the weather gets warmer. Whether it be a baby pink chiffon skirt, a peachy lip tint or the blue of the clear summer sky. It feels me with happiness and I want to SMILE! Surely anything that makes you smile is a good thing hey?!
Last year saw watercolours flood through the wedding scene and it was beautiful. Oozing elegance and grace, I very much wanted to get styling myself.
Originally the concept of the shoot was based around the growing watercolour trend, simple and elegant. However I wanted there to be an interesting contrast between rustic rawness and sophisticated glamour. I chose the beautiful Anne of Cleaves Barn in Great Bardfield, Essex as this gave me the rustic backdrop that I was looking for.
I was honoured when Lucy Martin Bridal agreed to lend me her dresses for the shoot, as this would automatically inject the elegance and sophistication that was needed – And how amazing it was!
The soft colours of the flowers from The Blue Dandelion with their small and delicate arrangements also gave another depth to this elegance. I teamed this with the seqin table cloth kindly leant to me by 9ice Events and loved the result.
Kelly from Little Pop Bake Shop had created a simply stunning cake for the shoot. So elegant and simple it just fitted right in amongst all the softness of the flowers.
I was overwhelmed with how the shoot turned out – It was perfect! I have so much love and respect for all the suppliers that made this a reality for me – Thank you. You are all wonderful!
